David Brian Atkins of Ypsilanti MI, age 72, passed away after a long illness on Sunday April 4, 2026. He was born on December 12, 1953 and was the youngest child of Ada Thierry and Levi Simpson. David was a graduate of Willow Run High School, class of 1971.  He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Washtenaw Community College.   David worked at the University of Michigan for over 20 years before retiring and moving to Las Vegas, NV.
