Ruth Elaine Jones Obituary

Ruth Elaine Jones, 71, of Inkster, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth Jones was born on June 13, 1954, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of the late Betty Mae Jones (Alexander) and Earl Jones. She grew up in Inkster, Michigan, and graduated from Taylor Center High School in 1972. Ruth dedicated her life to Jesus, her family, and her career as a program manager at Milestone Senior Services, where she was known for her positive attitude and her willingness to help those in need.

A woman of many passions, Ruth especially loved singing in the church; her voice could often be heard lifting songs of faith. She enjoyed cooking and feeding the masses, and she cherished adventures spent with her family. Her home was always filled with angel figurines and the comforting aromas of collard greens, accompanied by the sounds of gospel music. Her favorite song in rotation was “I’m Goin’ Up Yonder.” Ruth was an active member of Christ Temple Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She will be remembered for her warmth, radiant smile, generosity, and strength, which touched the lives of everyone she met.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, James Earl Armstrong.

She is survived by her devoted children, Marlon Jones (Susan) and Alric Jones, Al-Lanna Jones, Victor Jones, and Vic Jones (Jessica); her cherished grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear siblings Betty Jones, Robert Jones (deceased), Larry Jones (deceased), Carolyn Jones, Kimberly Jones, Duncan Jones, Bonnie Jones, Waynard Jones, and Carlica Jones, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at C & H Community Funeral Home, 411 S Adams St, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, on November 15, 2025, at 2:30 PM. The family welcomes all who wish to honor Ruth’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests continued love and prayers, and for everyone to reach out to love their own loved ones. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Family First for carrying out Ruth’s cremation and to C & H Community Funeral Home for their combined exceptional care and compassion during this time. As Ruth’s children, we also express gratitude for the selfless support of family and friends who made this possible.
