Rhonda Colbert Obituary

RHONDA YVETTE (WALTON) COLBERT

Rhonda Yvette (Walton) Colbert was born July 15, 1966, in St Louis, Missouri, the middle child of Elbert A Walton Jr and Sandra B. (Phillips) Walton. Rhonda departed this life on July 28, 2022.
Rhonda was a graduate of Visual and Performing Arts Elementary School, Soldan Junior Classical Academy High School, Howard University (BS in Mechanical Engineering) and Washington University (joint MBA and MS in Engineering Management). Upon graduation from Howard, Rhonda was employed as a Mechanical Engineer with Chrysler in Detroit, Michigan. Rhonda was married to Anthony Colbert and the mother of two daughters, Micah, and Joahnna, and two sons, Anthony Jr. (Jahleel) and Josiah. Rhonda was a devoted Christian having been baptized and brought up in Olive Chapel AME Church. Having relocated to Southfield, Michigan, upon being employed by Chrysler, Rhonda eventually settled upon the First Spanish American Baptist Church, in Pontiac, Michigan, as her church home, where she remained a dedicated member until her death.
Rhonda was loved by all and revered by many. She was somewhat of an introvert but was sure to check on her family and friends even through her own trials and tribulations. She was the light you never knew you needed until you spoke with her. She was soft and a voice of reasoning, even when you did not want to hear it. She kept God as the center of her life and never wavered from her faith. She had many accomplishments throughout her life, from her career, to becoming an entrepreneur, to raising her beautiful family. She loved deeply and it shined through her spirit.
Rhonda leaves to cherish her memory, her husband and children, her father, her mother, her sisters Rochelle Gray (Alan) and Angela Mosley (Jay), her brother Johnathan Walton, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces as well as her close friends. Rhonda was preceded in death by her brother, Elbert III.
