On July 6, 2025, our cherished Regina A. Fields, a beacon of joy and love, transitioned to her heavenly home. Born on February 5, 1954, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Regina was the fourth daughter of George W. and Jennistine Fields, and from the very beginning, she brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Regina was a proud graduate of Willow Run High School’s class of 1972. Regina dedicated many fulfilling years to her career at the United Way of Washtenaw County, where her commitment and spirit undoubtedly touched the lives of countless individuals before her well-deserved retirement.
Affectionately known as "Jeanie," she was truly the heart of her family, embracing her role as "The Planner" with enthusiasm and love. Family events, vibrant reunions, lively birthday parties, exciting Pokeno nights, and comforting Sunday dinners—if there was joy to be had, Jeanie was at the center, orchestrating every detail with boundless happiness. Her passion for bringing people together created a lifetime of treasured memories for everyone fortunate enough to be a part of her world.
While Jeanie did not have biological children, her love knew no bounds, and she showered an abundance of goodness and affection upon all of her nieces and nephews. She played a profoundly special role in raising Mayua Graham and her sister, Dollie Richardson, nurturing them with unwavering devotion for many years. Her impact extended beautifully to her niece, TaShauna Fuller, and her two children, Jordan Winn, and her latest delight, Mi’Amor. Jeanie's loving spirit also shone brightly as the proud Godmother to Navada McCoy, Talitha, Melvin, and Andr’e Le’Flouria.
Jeanie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, carried on by her mother, Jennistine M. Fields, and her loving siblings: Jennie Johnson (Rogers), Georgia Fields, Sarah Chandler, Ronald D. Fields, George W. Fields, Jr. (Felicia), Donald A. Fields (Noncy), and Shalonda Fields (Anthony). She also leaves a cherished brother-in-law, Loren T. Reeves; a special cousin, Patricia Jackson-Eaddy; a host of dear family members; and her forever friends, Marvin Miller, Dollie Hinton, Yvonne Tomlin, Yvonne Le’Flouria, Gwen Thomas, and the Willow Class of '72.
She now reunites with those who preceded her in death and surely welcomed her with open arms: her father, George W. Fields, Sr.; her sisters, Rita F. Reeves, and Shadonda Fields; and her special niece and namesake, Regina S. Reeves.
We will forever cherish her memory.
