Michael Herndon, a beloved father, son, brother, grandpa, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away on April 26, 2024, at the age of 62. He was a man of unwavering love, boundless generosity, and endless laughter.
Born to Mary Herndon (Frazier) and the late Charles Herndon on August 25, 1961, Michael's life was marked by his deep dedication to family and his genuine care for others. He graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1979 and immediately answered the call to serve his country, proudly serving in the Army. He later went on to work at Ford Motor Company where he continued to exemplify his strong work ethic and commitment for 15 years.
Michael became a member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ and found strength and solace in his faith community.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Charles Herndon. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and genuine kindness that will be cherished by his mother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Michael will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ in Ypsilanti, Michigan. All who knew and loved Michael are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing cherished stories.
