Lottie Mae Wright, affectionately known as “Mae,” was called home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2023. She departed this earth peacefully, at home, surrounded by family.
Lottie was born on November 4, 1944, in Camden, New Jersey. She was the beloved, only child of Willie and Lottie (Floyd) Wright.
Lottie grew up in Camden, New Jersey, and attended Camden Public Schools. She proudly graduated from Willow Run Adult Education.
Lottie moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and resided there until she purchased her home in Superior Township, Michigan where she lived until she made her transition to be with the Lord.
Lottie loved and raised three sons, Eric Hall, Vincent Hall, and Harry Hampton.
Lottie was employed by General Motors Hydramatic Power Train in Willow Run, Michigan for over 26 years as an Assembly Line Worker. She loved her job and her co-workers. She retired in 2004.
Lottie loved the Lord and gave her life to Christ at an early age in Camden, New Jersey, at Zion Baptist Church. As she continued her love for the Lord, she later became a Member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church of Ann Arbor, under the leadership of Reverend John A. Woods, followed by Dr. Joseph N. Cousins Sr., and ending under the leadership of Reverend Mashod A. Evans Sr. While at Bethel A.M.E., Lottie served faithfully on the Pastor’s Aide Board, the Nurses Guild, and The Church Bus Ministry. She loved her church family deeply and was a faithful and dedicated Servant of the Lord, serving at Bethel A.M.E. for over 50 years.
Lottie was a lifetime member of Eastern Star. She joined the Naomi Chapter in 2011. She served as Ruth from 2013-2014 and as Electa 2016-2017. She became a member of Eastern Star due to their sisterhood and service to the community and her father’s influence as a Mason.
Lottie was a vibrant, outgoing, and loving person. She had an infectious smile and laugh that touched everyone she met. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed being around family and friends. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion; she always sent a greeting card to everyone she loved celebrating their special occasions. She opened her home to friends and family, giving them a place to stay in their time of need. She loved to host birthday and holiday parties. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She enjoyed cooking and decorating her Christmas tree. She enjoyed traveling, especially visiting her family in Philly. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, gardening, reading, crocheting, watching soap operas and reality TV. But most of all, her favorite past time was spending time with and babysitting her great grandchildren.
Lottie loved her family; she leaves to cherish her fond memory, her Loving Children Vincent (Sonya) Hall and Harry (Dolores) Hampton. Daughter-In-Love Sheree Moore. Grandchildren Tawana Hampton, Antawan Moore, Bianca (Terrance) Hall-McBryde, Eric (Shecari) Hall Jr., Dominique (Kiah) Hall, Jermaine Hampton, Brittney Hall, Jordan Hall, and Shelby Hall. Great-Grandchildren Darius Hampton, Arianna Hall-McBryde, Aubriel Moore, Jamari Hall, Aniyah Hall-McBryde, Riyan Fly, Taliyah Williams, Amiya Hall, Riylee Fly, Kanye Hall, Kannon Hall, Yahri Reed-Love, Zekhi Hall, and Zuri Hall.
