Lolita Sims Obituary
Lolita Powell-Sims was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 15, 1947 to
the union of Vernell Powell and Cleo Theriot-Powell. After graduating from
Chadsey High School she attended floral design school and later worked
as a florist. In 1967 Lolita married the love of her life Dewight Sims and to
their union two children were born; Angelique Sims and Sean Sims. She
was a devoted loving housewife and mother that enjoyed cooking, baking,
dancing (especially modern dance), music and her soap operas.
Lolita was preceded in death by her parents Vernell and Cleo Powell. She
leaves to cherish her memory husband Dewight Sims, two children
Angelique Sims and Sean Sims; one sister DeBorah M. Sinclair (Debbie),
one brother Kario D. Powell Sr. three sister in laws Delphenia Wiley, Garlie
Sims-Jones (Gar), Dora Powell and one brother in law Dewey Sims. Three
nieces, DeEdra Knowles, Nashanda Luvene-Ford and Marcy Scott; three
nephews, Ted D. Sinclair IV (Jay), Kario Powell Jr. and Khambren Powell;
Along with and a host of great-nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lolita’s love and caring heart will be missed and her personality and
laughter will be cherished forever.

words and missed beyond measure”
