Jonathan Gant Sr. was born to parents Leo Gant Sr., and Essie Mae (Pearson) Gant on January 25, 1955, in Dade City, Florida. He graduated from Pasco High School in 1974. He spent many years as a farm worker. He is the father of his namesake, Jonathan Gant Jr. In search of new beginnings and driven by his faith, Jonathan gave his heart to the Lord and vowed to change his life, he moved to Michigan to join other siblings. Many people were introduced to Christ and learned about the Gospel through his evangelistic outreach. Jonathan was a member of Abundant Harvest Church of Belleville where he worked with the video team to ensure that the Sunday Morning Worship Service was digitally transmitted on the church’s YouTube Channel. Jonathan passed away on December 5, 2024, in Ypsilanti, Michigan at age 69. Jonathan leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Jonathan Gant Jr. and one grandson, Josiah A. Gant both of Tallahassee, FL., two sisters Earline Holmes of Ypsilanti and Dorothy Gant-McKinnie of Romulus; four brothers, Eddie (Mary) Gant of Fort Myers, FL, Leo Gant Jr. of Tallahassee, FL, Samuel “Sammy” Gant of Dade City, FL, and Joseph Gant of Ann Arbor, MI, brothers-in-law, Ronald Samuels of Reseda, CA, and Larry Palmer of Lathrup Village, MI, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. The viewing is Friday, December 20 at C & H Community Home for Funerals 411 S, Adams St. Ypsilanti, MI 48197 and the Family Hour (10am) and Funeral Services (11am) are on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Abundant Harvest Church 51185 Willis Rd., Belleville, MI 48111.
