Jasmin I. Jordan Obituary

Jasmin “Jazzy J” Ie’sha Jordan

Jasmin Ie’sha Jordan, affectionately known as “Jazzy J,” was born on February 9, 1991, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Lynnette Jordan-Burrell and Mark Davis. From the very beginning, her life reflected God’s grace, and she carried a radiant warmth that touched all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Jasmin was lovingly raised alongside her brother and sister by their devoted grandparents, Deacon Clifford and Joyce Jordan, whose unwavering love, wisdom, and faith helped shape the remarkable woman she became. Through their guidance, she learned the values of humility, integrity, responsibility, respectability, and sincerity. At an early age, Jasmin accepted Christ as her Savior and lived a life rooted in faith and service to Jesus Christ. She became a faithful member of Second Baptist Church, where she joyfully served in the Rosebud and Youth Choirs, the Junior Ushers Ministry, Young Adult Singles Ministry, the Drill Team, Sunday School Ministry, and the Media Ministry.

Jasmin attended Ypsilanti High School, where her vibrant personality, determination, and creative spirit were evident to everyone around her. Passionate about beauty and self-expression, she enrolled in the school’s cosmetology program and, in 2009, proudly earned both her high school diploma and cosmetology license. Following in the footsteps of her grandmother and mother, she embraced the beauty industry not merely as a career but as a divine calling.

Gifted with natural talent, artistry, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Jasmin established herself as a respected and beloved cosmetologist under the name “Jazzy J.” She began her professional journey at Finesse Salon under the loving mentorship of Shawn and Hala Green, where, for more than six years, she refined her craft and developed the high standards that became her signature. Always striving to grow, she pursued advanced education in hair-color techniques through Matrix Seminars and Workshops, further elevating her expertise.

Throughout her 14 years at JCPenney Salon and three years at Karin & Company Salon, Jasmin became known not only for her exceptional skill but for the kindness and peace she brought into every room. Her clients cherished her as more than a stylist; she was a confidante, encourager, and friend. With every appointment, she offered patience, professionalism, compassion, and genuine care.

To Jasmin, hairstyling was never simply a profession—it was a ministry. She believed her hands were meant to uplift and restore, and she used her God-given gifts to help others feel beautiful, confident, and valued. Whether educating clients on healthy hair care or simply offering a listening ear, Jasmin served with love and grace. Her radiant smile, gentle spirit, and uplifting words will remain forever etched in the hearts of those she touched.

Jasmin’s spirit was both tender and adventurous. She embraced life wholeheartedly and found joy in traveling, creating cherished memories with family and friends, and experiencing new adventures. Her love for motorcycles allowed her to express her fearless side, and she was especially proud to become a member of the Boogie Down Motorcycle Club alongside her beloved cousin-brother, Brandon Jordan. There, she was affectionately known as “Cuzz,” a reflection of the love, loyalty, and fellowship she shared with her motorcycle family.

In 2023, driven by her entrepreneurial vision and passion for service, Jasmin partnered with her mother and cousin, Lauryn, to open Forever Beauty Co., a salon and spa dedicated to beauty, empowerment, and community care. It was there that “Jazzy J’s” truly flourished. Jasmin welcomed every person who entered with warmth and hospitality, always offering a smile—and often coffee, tea, or water—to make others feel at home.

Jasmin lived a life marked by love, faith, resilience, and joy. She possessed a rare ability to make people feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for. Through her laughter, generosity, attentive spirit, and unwavering devotion to family and friends, she created lasting bonds that will never be forgotten. Though her earthly journey was far too brief, her life remains a powerful testimony of compassion, purpose, and grace. Her light continues to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.

Jasmin was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Markita L. Jordan; her paternal grandmother, Betty Davis; and her stepsister, Kilani Burrell.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving mother and stepfather, Lynnette and Arthur Jordan-Burrell; her devoted maternal grandparents, Deacon Clifford and Joyce Jordan; her uncle, Maurice “Uncle-Reese” (Toni) Jordan; her special auntie, Leslie Greene, whom she lovingly called her second mother; her brother, Freddie Antoine Jordan; her sisters, Keisha Jordan and Jalessa Davis; her stepbrother, Arthur Burrell, Jr.; her beloved cousin-sister circle; Lauryn “Tangy” Jordan, Bianca “Batonka” Jordan, Erica “E” Davis, Alexis “Lex” Gaines, Dorian “Dori” Jordan, and Adeetra “DeeDee” Harris; her cherished cousin-brother, Brandon “B to the J” Jordan; her forever-friend, Dom and special friend Juice; her treasured travel buddy, Renee Smith; 15 loving nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
