Deanna Renee Craig Obituary

Born to Linda and Harold Robertson on June 24th,1971 in Ypsilanti, MI. Deanna was raised in a home where the Bible was the centerpiece and Prayer was the morning’s first breath. Her spiritual journey began at Mount Zion COGIC (Now known as Whitehead Cathedral COGIC), where she was baptized at an early age. Under the watchful eyes of (Grand Mother) Mother Mary Lee Currie, (God Mother) Mother Dolly Thurmond and the Elders of the church. Deanna learned that life’s storms could be weathered with a praying hand. Whether it was the "Amen Corner" or the Sunday School classroom, the sanctuary was Deanna’s second home, and that foundation remained unshakable until the very end. Deanna attended Van Buren Schools up until graduation from Belleville High School in 1989.

As her career choice, she joined the plethora of family and friends at Ford Motor Company for over a decade until retirement.

She loved attending concerts and church conventions with her church family. She spent several days a week attending church services and singing in the choir.

Whether she was cooking, crocheting, singing or reading the Bible, she mastered everything she put her mind to. Deanna had the word written on the tablet of her heart and the scripture was her native tongue.

She had a unique way of making every person in the room feel like the most important person in the world.

Known as DeeDee, she taught those around her the true meaning of unconditional support. Being Auntie of the year, every year! Her love was expressed in giving away her recipes, long FaceTime calls with her loved ones and showing up every time it mattered.

Deanna Renne Craig, age 54, of Ypsilanti, MI, passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2026, surrounded by family, that was the center of her world.
