Bessie Mae Hargrow was born on August 1, 1952, in Nitta Yuma, Mississippi, to M.L. Hargrow and Willie Mae
Hargrow. From the very beginning, she carried quiet strength and a loving spirit that touched all who knew her.
Bessie later moved to Michigan, where she graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1978.
She was a dedicated, hardworking woman, employed at Tower Plaza as an office cleaner and later Hudson’s (now Macy’s) as a food prepper.
She took pride in her work and gave her best in all she did.
Bessie enjoyed yard sales, thrifting, westerns and classic films. She found great joy in baking her famous chocolate
chip cookies for those she loved - an expression of her care that will long be remembered. Her light lives on through
her four children: Nicole, Angie, Mike and Antonio. She was also a loving grandmother to Asya, Aaron, Alena, Amyree and Ian, and a proud great grandmother to Isaiah, Miavaa,
Ari and Quamir. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Francis, M.L., Jessie, Brenda, Deborah and Bertha Mack.
Bessie is now reunited in heaven with her parents, M.L. and Willie Mae Hargrow and her sisters, Mary and Dorothy.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace.
Bessie Mae Hargrow will be remembered for her kindness, her strong work ethic, the life she lived with purpose and
grace and the love she shared with those closest to her. Her legacy lives on in cherished memories.
