Louise Abraham was born in Newbern, Alabama on July 26,1932. She departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. She was 90 years young! She transitioned from this world to her heavenly home with her children by her side singing, praying and thanking God for a life well lived.
Sis. Abraham confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age. She united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church in 1957. She served as a Sunday School Teacher and she has been a Deaconess since 1968.
She graduated from Brighton High School and attended Booker T. Washington Business School in Alabama. She married her husband, David L. Abraham on Christmas Day. They relocated to Michigan and she later became employed at the University of Michigan. After several years of exemplary service, she enjoyed retirement with her husband, family and friends.
Louise was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for her loving spirit and sweet demeanor. She always took time to listen when you called or stopped by and she responded with bible verses and words of wisdom and knowledge to encourage you. She enjoyed exercising, laughing and traveling. Her first activity of each day was to thank the Lord for another day’s journey, start her daily exercise routine followed by a good cup of coffee. She read her commentary and studied her bible daily. She continued to bow down on her knees and openly say her prayers at night until last month. To God Be the Glory for the life she lived before us.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Ronald, Melvin, David(Sandra), Janice Abraham, Cynthia(Leonard) Caddell. Grandchildren, Cannon(Monique), Amelia, Alexus, Melvin, Markia, Dynia, Sandra, Mathew, Ashley, Tarvarus, Latoya. Great-Grandchildren, Sinai, DeAngelo, Dameer, Amala, Kemmthy, Brenia, David, Calab and Zoey. Sister’s Ida Marshall, Mary Mason and Evelyn Gray. Brother’s Herbert and Leroy Dunn. Sister-in-law Josphine Abraham. God-Daughter Leatha Wares. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins and others who called her “mom”. Her husband, parents, two brothers, two daughter-in-laws, one sister-in-law and two brother-in-laws preceded her in death.
