Lawrence Gamble Obituary

Lawrence Elbert Gamble was born on September 12, 1946 in Collins, MS to Liddell and Minnie Gamble. Lawrence (Larry) was the youngest of six children. Larry accepted the Lord at an early age and joined Friendship Baptist Missionary Church in Collins, MS. He joined the United States Air Force in 1965.
After completing his tour of duty in Vietnam; as a firefighter; he moved to Philadelphia, and then moved to Detroit, MI working as a Cold Header operator in the automotive industry.
Larry and Loretta (Leavell) Gamble united in fellowship November 20, 1976. At the time of death they had spent 43 loving years together.
After being diagnosed with Multi myeloma cancer, in October, 2014, he retired and dedicated his remaining time to being an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle to his family. He loved planting his flowers in the spring and hanging Christmas light during the holidays. Cooking, fishing and various DIY projects around the house added to his enjoyment.
Lawrence transitioned on March 10,2020. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Loretta Gamble, brother Harvey Gamble, sisters: Mary Katherine Joshua, and Zula McCoy;
Nine children: Erayna Sargent (Joseph), Tennille Jones (Kevin), Tyra Gamble, Lank Green (Karrie), Lawrence Lyles, Wendy Townsend, Peggy Johnson (Jeffrey), Norman Magee Jackson (preceded in death) and Nick Latrell Donald. Larry’s father Liddell & mother Minnie , two sisters: Naomi Shiver and Mennie preceded him in death.
A light from our household is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in the home,
Which never can be filled,
We have to mourn the loss of one,
We did our best to save,
Beloved on earth, regretted still,
Remembered in the grave,
Tis hard to part with one so dear,
We little thought of time was near,
Farewell dear one, your life is past,
Our love for you till the end will last.
HUMBLY SUBMITTED THE FAMILY
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
