Emerson Clay Jr. died on December 29, 2019 at The Villa at Parkridge nursing facility in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Emerson was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and was one of three children born to Emerson Clay Sr. and Doris Mae (Craighead) Clay. Emerson fondly known as Cricket, was married to Vickie Lynn (Taylor) Clay for 47 years. Emerson was proceeded in death by his parents.
Emerson proudly served this country as a US Marine. Emerson was a self employed entrepreneur. Owner and CEO of Clay’s Construction Company. Emerson was baptized at an early age at Brown Chapel AME Church where he remained a member until the time of his death. Emerson enjoyed watching sports, fishing, listening to music, and Emerson loved his family.
Emerson leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Vickie Clay, one daughter: Marlo Clay, four sons; Ebony Wilson(Kristian), Karim Wilson, Steven Wilson(Juanita), and Emerson Wilson. Two grandchildren that he raised: Andrea Clay and Reggie Adolph. 27 grandchildren: Damaryius, Emerson Jr., Elijahwan, Montez, Steve Jr., Cameron, Emerson III, Lataiya, Antonio, Seth, Tiara, Izaiah, Jada, Mya, Angel, Genesis, and Corriana. 2 great-grandchildren: Mylah and Maurice Hollifield, 2 God daughters Rhonda Ryan and Alethea Frost, 2 God brothers Leon and Calvin Coats, one brother-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
